About Us

Since our founding in 2010, Fremont Local Market has been on the front lines of the local food movement in Wyoming. Our goal from the beginning has been to rebuild the local food economy in the Wind River Basin: engaging with state representatives to change food laws, establishing a traditional farmers market to give farmers access to local buyers, collaborating with colleges and schools to help educate citizens on the importance and challenges of building local food chains, and much more.

Fremont Local Market is the culmination of those efforts; a brick and mortar outlet that levels the playing field for our small farmers and cottage industrialists, while providing customers access to the highest quality foods. Eighty five percent of what you spend at the market goes right back to the producers, farmers and ranchers, who in turn reinvest in our community. This is homegrown economic development with a healthy dose of nutrient-rich food! Welcome to Riverton’s Fremont Local Market.
